Azure Blob Storage Problem


  • We are using Azure Blob storage for our SQL backups and are failing while trying to restore a database or even download files from the blob. SQL Server finds the backup fine, but eventually fails. When trying to view the container and blobs through the new portal, I get a dark cloud icon and a single raindrop icon. I can list files through the old portal but receive a 404 error when attempting download (multiple workstations, browsers, and users have attempted). I can't help but think these are related.

    We've successfully restored databases in the past via blob storage and I've also successfully retrieved files through the web portal without issue. Is there something going on or am I doing something wrong?

  • Actually, it appeared to be an outage related to Azure Storage yesterday. Database restoration and file downloads are working properly now using the same methods.
