How to Get XAML

  • Does anyone know how to get XAML for Develpoping Windows Store Apps in Visual Studio?

  • Start with the Get started link in the Windows Dev Center.

    Windows Store and Windows Phone app support is provided in Visual Studio 2013 Express for Windows and in all full versions of Visual Studio 2013. VS 2013 Update 2 (the most current version) is needed for Windows Phone 8.1 and Universal app support.

    The Get set up page provides download links for Visual Studio Express 2013 for Windows with Update 2 and for the Windows app samples pack.

  • See Part 1: Create a "Hello, world" app of the Create your first Windows Store app using C# or Visual Basic documentation for a step-by-step walkthrough.

    You need to be on Windows 8.1 to create a new Windows Store app with Visual Studio 2013.

    To create a Windows Store app select Visual C#, Visual Basic, or Visual C++ and choose a template from the Store Apps section (screenshot from Visual Studio 2013 Update 2):
