  • Question

  • Hi All,

    Why in a Windows 8 RTM clean install the Kinect For Windows Setup does not copy the Microsoft.Kinect.dll into the GAC ?

    Thanks,

  • hmmm it's showing fine for me with VS 2012 when I start a new project. It's also showing in VS 2010. Which version are you using? (BTW this isn't a GAC issue)

  • can you give some more details? What is the problem you are seeing? What version of the K4W SDK are you using? We test on Win8 RTM daily.

  • Hi Todd,

    You can't pick the Kinect DLL from the .NET references as before but you need to browse inside the C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Kinect\v1.5\Assemblies

    On Win7 this DLL was installed in the GAC

    Thanks,

  • Hi Todd,

    Also for me worked on a new project and I discovered that the problem was the following line in the project still referencing v1.0:

    <Reference Condition="'$(TargetFrameworkVersion)' == 'v4.0'" Include="Microsoft.Kinect, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35, processorArchitecture=MSIL" />

    Thanks for your help.
