.jpg, .png, etc. all need to be converted with another program before it is imported to blend? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am a designer enjoying my blend, silverlight trial download. Love
the application but I wanted straight talk on not being able to
import the most used graphics files on the web...I am not
finding straight talk on file conversion. Am I correct in assuming
I will need to use another program to convert a png or jpg
    to .obj, .mtl, or XAML?

  • Not sure exactly how you want to use the image files, but the article:
http://www.code-magazine.com/Article.aspx?quickid=0803061 gave me some insight how images are added to an Expression Blend 2.5 project.  Kevin explains how his images are added to the program when an 'Include in Project' shortcut menubutton is clicked (In Visual Studio).  This procedure and a sample image file for the IPhone program are at the above site.  The image adding procedure is outlined in the 'Creating the iPhone Status Bar' section of his article maybe three or four pages into the article.  Have More Fun!!  PS Build the IPhone--It is awesome!
