How to access a folder in a mobile device connected via usb, with VB ? RRS feed

  • I have an application writemn in VB6. I would like to get data from a folder in the mobile device using windows mobile 6. How can I do that ? Is there any activex control to heltp achieve this goal ?

  • You can use RAPI for that. There's a managed wrapper for that API but I'm not sure about VB6.

    Desktop applications can use RAPI (Remote Application Program
    Inerface) to manipulate data on a device attached via ActiveSyn/WMDC.
    I know VB can use RAPI, but I can't help much more because I don't use
    VB.

    If you're looking for a file in main storage of the device, then the
    root folder is "\". If you're looking for a file on a storage card,
    then you may need to work a bit; I've seen root folders named "Storage
    Card", "CF Card", "SD Card", and variations of each of those with a
    number appended (e.g. "Storage Card 2").
