New Outlook 2013 App Model: Can I make a supported call to EWS GetUserAvailability? RRS feed

I think you could not use makeEwsRequestAsync to call EWS GetUserAvailability. Mail apps can access a subset of operations that are available in EWS via the makeEwsRequestAsync method. I have checked the supported EWS operations in mail apps. But as you have known, it is not listed. The article from Eugene has proved it, and the article below also proved it.

    # Table 1. EWS folder and item operations that mail apps can use

If this is a feature you want to include in future versions of Office Javascript API, please submit a feedback to Office Development Platform Uservoice.

  • Hello,

I am creating a MailItem app and I need to call EWS GetUserAvailability. The approach is explained here:

Is there any supported way to use mailbox.makeEwsRequestAsync and call EWS GetUserAvailability ?

    Thank you,

  • :)

Yes, I posted this question right after reading that article. GetUserAvailability is not listed there and I am trying to find a workaround.

  • I'd suggest asking Office Apps specific questions on the Developing Apps for Office 2013  forum instead.

  • Ah, I did not know about that forum. I just posted the question there. If I get the answer, I will update this post.
