    Hi All,

I need to create a setup project for a web application that developed in Visual Studio 2008 SP1.

I have add the setup project and successfully build the setup project also. But when I install it to the system. It is showing the all source code files like (*.cs and *.aspx.cs). I donot want to show these file in the installation.

I need the setup file without source code like we can do in publishing.

    May anyone help me out.

    Thanks,

    ali

    Thanx ali for repling,

I have visit this page and found that this can be helpful to create two type of deployment

one that removes all source files, such as code-behind and markup files,

or one that retains the markup files

I could not found how to use this exe. I have found this exe in my Windows/Microsoft.NET/Framework/v2.0.50727. Can it be used for setup project? Mainwhile I can publish project, this will create dll for *.cs files. But I need to create setup.exe file that can install the project like publishing.

    Hi,

We can add Web Deployment project (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/asp.net/aa336619.aspx) to precompile your ASP.NET website and then use this Web Deployment Project's output as Web Setup's input (Right click Web Setup project and select Add Project Output..., and then select Web deployment project from Project dropdown list).

    For more information, see http://weblogs.asp.net/scottgu/archive/2005/11/06/429723.aspx

I look forward to receiving your test results.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your response.

Please use Visual Studio 2008 Web Deployment Project on http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=0AA30AE8-C73B-4BDD-BB1B-FE697256C459&displaylang=en. It has the same function with 2005 version.

    Thanks.
