Socket connection between two emulators doesn't open for PeerFinder with Proximity Tapper RRS feed

  • Question

  • When I am using PeerFinder with the Proximity Tapper I am able to recieve the first two states,  'PeerFound' & 'Connecting'/'Listening' but I never get the 'Completed' state. After a while I receive the 'Failed' state.

The app works ok with a WP8 device and a Win8.1 tablet. I see the same behavior with the "Proximity sample".
The NFC part of Proximity Tapper seems to work ok, I'm able to use it to send Url, sort messages, etc.

When I try to open two WP8.0 emulators the tool gets confused, so I can only test it with two WP8.1 emulators or WP8.0/WP8.1.

I believe there is a problem with Hyper-V's vEthernet or the firewall that doesn't allow the two WP8 instances to communicate and initialize a StreamSocket (the trird step of PeerFinder). I tried several times to reinstall Hyper-V & Proximity Tapper, disable/Enable the firewall, Restore firewall Settings, etc.
