Create hubsections from sqlite database using MVVM RRS feed

  • What would be the best way to accomplish the below in C# and Windows Phone Universal app.

I currently have a working app to read and write into different tables. But now I'm looking into making the following updates.

    1. Using a local sqlite-database in the app, get from a table a specific columnvalue and create Hubsections with the string value inside the column.

    2. Then while selecting different hubsection read from Another table and create a listview with the specific columns and it's values.

This also while keeping true to the MVVM format.

Regarding part 1 I spent some time searching and found among other this answer on msdn. But it seemed so messy.

My first thought regarding part 2 would be to use the SectionsInViewChanged and simply get the value in the hubsection and use that. But given the fact that this would break the MVVM and add code inside the View this is not an option.
