Empty Metro Framework

    Question

  • I'm looking to learn how to program metro style apps and was wondering if there was a way to create an empty app. Not the blank Blank Application template, but something more akin to a Win32 Empty Project. I want to learn the CoreWindow API, and none of the templates seem to be a good starting point. I tried creating a win32 app with metro support, then I got compiler errors that there was no appxmanifest and there seems to be no way of creating it. I tried to do that manually by making an xml file, but to no avail, it said it had to be in the root directory. Putting it there didn't help.

  • Yes! It has a manifest, and I can delete all the gunk and start from scratch with my own main(). Thank you!
