usb controller / kinect v2 not working RRS feed

  • Question

  • hello all,

Im having troubles getting the kinect2 to work on my new win8.1 laptop.

the kinect v2 configuration verifier shows a orange symbol and says "Supported USB 3.0 port detected with unknown bandwith. Kinect may or may not be compatible with your hardware"

I have tried it with all 3 usb ports (2 of them are usb 3 ports). But none of them work.

I also get a orange symbol for "Verify Kinect Depth and Color Streams" with the message "Waiting for frames from kinect"

    my device manager sais I have a Intel (R) USB 3.0 eXtensible-Hostcontroller - 0100 (Microsoft) as well as 2 Intel(R) 8 Series/C220 Series USB EHCI #1 (and #2)

the laptop has the following specs:

    Display / System:15.6" GT 940M | FHD 1920 x 1080 (W650SB)
    CPU (Prozessor):Intel Core i7-4810MQ, 4x 2.80GHz, 6MB Cache
    Grafikkarte:NVIDIA GeForce GT 940M 2GB
    Arbeitsspeicher:16GB DDR3-1600 SO-DIMM (2x 8GB)
    SSD (mSATA):250GB Samsung 850 EVO, mSATA3
    Festplatte / SSD:250GB Samsung 850 EVO
    Laufwerk:DVD-Brenner Slim
    Netzteil:90W Netzteil inklusive
    Tastatursprache:Deutsch (DE) - beleuchtet
    Soundkarte:HD-Audio Onboard

What steps would you suggest to make it work? None usb driver installations did work or fix the issue

Id be glad for any help

  • Did you try to run any of the demonstrations, like the simple Body Basics-D2D or Kinect Studio (press connect in the upper left corner)?

The USB message is always in that mode for me, without problems.
