geometry disappearing RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have a variety of clients using Mapguide with SqlServer2008 as a FDO data source. Our user packages are hosted on local Win2003 servers in various locations. The client packages include about 12 feature layers each with an associated database table. Each table is essentially the same except for the attribute data contents. Each table has a geometry column named ‘geometry’, and a spatial index with the same bounds, etc. All installations use the same database schema.

At several installation sites, one layer in particular disappears after pan or zoom operations. The feature class table is essentially the same as the others in the database, and has the same PK and spatial index properties. Changes to symbol, scale, and drawing order do not seem to affect performance. The only clue we have seen so far is that when running Mapguide Studio or Maestro on XP machines, the geometry property is sometimes not visible when opening the properties page for that layer. The geometry property reappears after closing the authoring tool and re-starting the sqlserver service.

  • Hi ,

This issue seems to be related with application Mapguide . Could you please open the database of SQL Server 2008 and check the column named ‘geometry’ whether there are spatial data ? If yes, it is possible to identify the root cause if you have the source code for how to populate geometry to properties page.

Please let me know if any concerns.

    Best Regards,
