Why transformation go from YUY2 to IYUV ? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I am little bit confused, I have transformation: source MJPG -> sink ASF/WMV1

When I see topo trace I can see this sequence: MJPG->YUY2->IYUV->WMV1

What is the reason for WMV1 request IYUV if regarding documentation it is perfectly accepts YUY2 ?

    Regards

    Aleksey

  • IYUV has been documented in a few of Microsoft's Media Foundation Decoders as being a more suitable colour space for transcoding as well as I420. YUY2 must be the closest YUV space variant Motion JPEG is decoded to.

MFT_DECODER_EXPOSE_OUTPUT_TYPES_IN_NATIVE_ORDER this CodecAPI setting in particular deals with prioritising certain formats depending on your application/topology
