Deploy VM on premium storage from portal RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

When trying to deploy a VM from the ASDK portal, I only see VMs that run on HDD. There no VMs that support SSD (ones with 's' in the name) in the list.

When deploying a VM from an arm template, I can de deploy VMs on premium storage (e.g. DS3_v2).

Why are they not visible in the portal?

    Regards,

    Theo

  • There is no difference between Premium and Standard storage as Azure Stack utilize Storage Space Direct which consolidate the underlying HDD and SSD storage into a unified virtual pool.

  • It may be that you are only seeing the recommended sizes. If that is the case click the "View All" link. All sizes should be showing up.
