"xbootmgr -trace shutdown" restarts instead of shutdown RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

as the title says, if I execute

       xbootmgr -trace shutdown ....

it restarts instead of shutting down and powering off the machine. How can I tell it not to restart? Or can I make xbootmgr start tracing but without shutting down by itself (which is actually a restart) so I can shut it down myself?

  • I helped myself by opening an application preventing the shutdown (just opened notepad and typed a character), so I could cancel shutdown and do a real shutdown (which means incl power off) manually.

(Unfortunatelly, the actual problem existing for weeks that I'm trying to troubleshoot doesn't occur now anymore. :( )
