Close view side by side RRS feed

  • Question

  • Excel 2016:

I activated side by side viewing of the same excel file.

Now every time I open the file it displays a file.xlsx:1 and file.xlsx:2 version.

How do I turn of that behavior so just a single instance of the file displays when I open the file (file.xlsx)?

  • Activate the window with title file.xlsx:2.

Close this window (by clicking the close button in the upper right corner or by pressing Ctrl+F4).

The other window should now be titled simply file.xlsx.

Save the workbook (by clicking the Save button or by pressing Ctrl+S).

Next time you open the workbook, you should see only one window.
