    Somehow I heard that this .Net thing is Microsoft implementation of Grid Computing. Can anyone please explain on this one? Thanks,

    No, .NET is not an implementation of grid computing. Roughly speaking, grid computing is a technique for distributing computation so that a network of computers appears as a single computer. The .NET Framework, on the other hand, is merely a runtime and framework for running applications. Like any other runtime environment, it should be possible to implement a grid computing solution on top of the .NET Framework. In fact, one company, Bayanihan Computing, has done some research on grid computing using XML web services in .NET. You can find articles on this on their web site.
