Navigate to another charms settings link from the flyout RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

    I have created a settings page in the charm and now inside the settings page I have kept a hyperlink and on click of that I need to navigate on to a new flyout link in the charms list. Like I have 2 links in the Charms, - Settings and Help.

    From Settings I have to navigate to Help from a hyperlink,

    I have tried :

    WinJS.UI.SettingsFlyout.showSettings("helpDiv", "pages/help/help.html");

    This does not navigate.

    Is it possible to navigate from one flyout to another in Charms - Settings?

    Thanks,

    Neena

  • Hi NeenaIS,

    I don't think we can directly (use code) to switch from one setting panel (opened in the settings charm) to another. The user need to hide the current opened setting panel so as to open another.

    The SettingsFlyout object current only provides "hide" method to hide the entire settings flyout window.

  • you mean a hyper link will be there in settings content and by clicking that link you should directly open the help charm, rite?

    if yes, first you should handle the click event of that hyper link and then in the event handler you should show the help charm using show settings method.

    to open particular page content in settings charm...
