Windows server configuration RRS feed

  • Hi All,

    Now constructing the server for performance testing purpose, so please some body suggest me what is the best configurations for the below requirements?(RAM, Processor ,etc..)

    .Net application

    Windows application

    I need to check the 100, 500, 1000 upto 5000 users perform the application.

    Web application

    Please help me.

  • Your application should have minimum/reccomended specs stated as part of the handout to your customers. Use those as a base and see how they do, they may need to be revised at some point, and your performance testing could be the driving force behind that revision.

    If you do not have any reccomended specs then you need to get on to your project experts and try to get hold of them.

    Failing that, just use a trial and error process, the memory and processor speed are easily changeable through SCVMM. Ramp up the users, if it starts chugging then add some more memory and try again. Once you have go to a point where your server specs are high compared to what the system is actually doing, you have yourself some performance issues!
