Windows Store App Expiration RRS feed

  • Question

  • I would like my App to be purchased (after a trial period) and then expire on Jan 1, 2014.  (If it is successful I will publish a new version that will then expire on Jan 1, 2015)

Could I just also do this, without an explicit expire store function, and just tell people very clearly that the app will expire Jan 1, 2014?  Is that allowed?

    Thanks,

    Daniel

  • The app cannot expire once it has been purchased. You can only have a free trial expire.

If your app is providing a service you can charge subscription fee via an in-app purchase and have the services specific to the subscription expire and disable those features in the app unless the customer renews the subscription.
