How to get new Kinect driver for Windows 10 anniversary update? RRS feed

All replies

  • Indeed, all the news related to Kinect and UWP point to the anniversary update...

But at the same time they talk about a new UWP ready driver, and a future SDK for skeleton tracking to be released later.

My understanding was that the new Kinect driver would be distributed along with the anniversary update, so even if we did not have the skeleton, we would at least be able to access the image streams and windows hello.

If this is not the case, or if the UWP Kinect driver has been delayed and not available with the anniversary update, it would be desirable to have a clarification to prevent further confusions.

  • If possible, could you send driver to me?

Don't know if it is such a good idea, but ok. Here, I uploaded it to OneDrive the version (2.2.1607.19000) released in 19.07.2016 as KinectRuntime x64 setup:!AuEqVKK0eUKDmmwtJXeZt9OUtzun

  • Thank you for your kindness.

However, I guess that runtime msi file does not include drivers. I tried update runtime, but I couldn't use camera of Kienct on UWP.

  • Did you go to Device Manager and press Update driver (context menu or in properties) for WDF KinectSensor Interface 0? (you are supposed to trigger the update through device manager of windows update)

I just ran an update on one of my computers and the process worked without any issue.

  • I don't know when Windows Hello will be available to those that aren't in the insider progam.

By the way did you add the required key in the registry in order to get the latest drivers?

brunofilipe90 pointed out the following folder:
"It should be in a folder called kinectsensor* inside C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository"

Compressed the whole folder and uploaded to OneDrive:!AuEqVKK0eUKDmnmxZyl7pwYcgoc-

Don't know which you need. So, good luck.

  • Works flawlessly! Just manually installed it in device manager and now I have video on skype.

Thanks a lot, I had tried everything and the driver wouldn´t update (latest Windows Insider, regedit DriverFlighting, reinstall drivers).

  • Thanks! I tried install it. Kinect v2 Camera can choose in UWP. However does not work. (Message: Hardware MFT couldn't start streaming because hardware resource don't have.)

  • Today, I got new driver (2.2.1608.2000) from driver update using TargetRing registory settings.

This driver can use RGB camera in UWP and Windows Hello!
