SharePoint Workflow Manager Installation RRS feed

  • Question

  • Do you require SharePoint Workflow Manager installed if you have to run workflows in an on-premise environment?

We currently have a SharePoint Farm with couple Application servers, Web Front <g class="gr_ gr_146 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Punctuation only-ins replaceWithoutSep" data-gr-id="146" id="146">and</g> SQL but we are getting issues running workflows or able to select 2013 workflows from the Designer.

There are all 2010 workflows running on the environment and on one particular site collection the workflows are failing to start.

The environment was recently upgraded from 2007 - 2013

    Found this but i am using SharePoint designer 2013 and can't find the Security tab to resolve <g class="gr_ gr_748 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Grammar only-ins doubleReplace replaceWithoutSep" data-gr-id="748" id="748">issue</g>.

    1. In SharePoint Designer 2007 right click on the Workflows library and click Properties.
    2. Click the Security tab.
    3. Click Manage permissions using the browser.
    4. Using the breadcrumb click Settings.

    5. The URL will contain the following system page: http://yourSite/_layouts/listedit.aspx?List=ListID.

    Please help

    Regards,

    Aslr

  • Yes, required to install Workflow manager client on all WFEs regardless of as if Workflow manager installed and configured on App/WFE server.

    Thanks,

  • Hi Aslr,

If you have SharePoint Workflow Manager installed, you can create a 2013/2010 workflow in the Designer 2013, if you do not have SharePoint Workflow Manager installed, you can only create a 2010 workflow in Designer 2013.

Do you mean that all 2010 workflow in one particular site collection fail to start? Can you start them manually?

Are the workflows migrated from old version of SP? If so, check this article:
