hi. a blind student developer, wanted to use sql management studio 2012 with asp dot net. tried installing ssme, but for some reason, the reporting viewer and the basic management tools did not install. said some thing about the clr c system not being installed. but did go and find that and installed it. so, maybe this was for sql 2008, not 2012 express 32 bit. so, how do i fix this and then get it to install. tried googling, but found nothing. uinstalled and reinstalled, and see if that and visual studio 2013 ultimate plays nicely. then see if ssme will connect to the server. had problems, could not find any local servers. can you help. marvin.

    Hi StarTrekCafe,

As far as I know, for the reporting feature of SQL Server, you should have IIS installed. So please install the IIS first, then install the SQL Server.

On the other hand, please refer to this link to install the SQL Server:

    # Install SQL Server 2012 from the Installation Wizard (Setup)

    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms143219(v=sql.110).aspx

If you still have the issue about SQL Server 2012, I suggest that you should post it to the SQL Server Setup forum for efficient response.

    Thanks

    Best Regards

    (1) Compare/check properly whether you system and software matches the requirement criteria  i.e check whether 32 bit O.S or 64 bit o.s ,etc..

    (2) Maintain the Disk space properly(@ hard disk)

    (3) Free software of sql server management studio @ google is avaialble - try it and make sure it matches with ur system criteria
