Getting problem in reading USB port

  • Hi Dinesh,

    Did you modify the Capabilities of your USB device in the App Manifest?

    To use the sample, add vendor/product id information for your USB to serial adapter to the Package.appxmanifest file. You can obtain that information from the Device Manager properties (see Hardware Id).

    <Capabilities> <m2:DeviceCapability Name="usb"> <m2:Device Id="vidpid:056E 5003"> <m2:Function Type="classId:ff * *" /> </m2:Device> <m2:Device Id="vidpid:056E 5004"> <m2:Function Type="classId:ff * *" /> </m2:Device> </m2:DeviceCapability> </Capabilities>

    There could be another possibility that current device is not supported in Windows Store App, test with another USB device to see if you can make it work, for more information please ref: Devices USB support section.

  • Hi Jamles,

    I had already changed the vendor/product id information for USB to serial adapter to the Package.appxmanifest file.

     <Capabilities>
        <m2:DeviceCapability Name="usb">
          <m2:Device Id="vidpid:0403 6001">
            <m2:Function Type="classId:ff * *" />
          </m2:Device>
          <m2:Device Id="vidpid:
    0403 6001">
            <m2:Function Type="classId:ff * *" />
          </m2:Device>
        </m2:DeviceCapability>
      </Capabilities>

    But the problem still exist. And how to know that the sample app support the UWI device I am using with

    using RS-232 cable.

    And What modification to be done in the  Capabilities of USB device in the App Manifest.

    Please give your suggestion.

    Regards,

    Dinesh
