Windows Phone 8.1 native local database - is SQLCe available in WinRT? RRS feed

  • Hello

I am now porting my WP8.0 apps to Windows Phone RT 8.1.

Some of my WP8.0 apps use the native Windows Phone 8.0 local database - that is SQLCe using LINQ to SQL technology (https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/apps/hh286405%28v=vs.105%29.aspx).

I am now porting those apps to Windows Runtime and as I see on API mappings list (https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/apps/dn800286.aspx), there is no equivalent of for example System.Data.Linq.Mapping namespace in Windows Runtime APIs. I know that I can use SQLite in Windows Runtime apps, but I don't want to. I would like to stay with my current database so my users have their data retained with no risk of any loss.

Is it possible to use existing SQLCe database in Windows Phone RT 8.1 application? It don't have to be LINQ to SQL. I just want to use my existing database.

    Thanks in advance :)
