Ideas for fully interfacing the kinect to a pc RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • I'm going to be working on fully incorporating the kinect into a pc, so no mouse or keyboard are needed.

I'd love it for this to be a discussion of the possible features that it would offer. I think I have all the resources that I currently need, I just need the ideas.

Obviously things like hand movements for mouse control, clicking features.

Having an on-screen keyboard to interact with.

Post any other ideas you have. Thanks!

  • I think one thing to keep in mind is I have three monitors making my desktop 4800x1920. A person can have up to six 30" monitors making for a 7680x3200 in a 3x2 landscape array forming a single surface. The other exteme is you're dealling with a 22" monitor from 6' away. No, that's not a lean forward gesture, that's a trying to see the screen jesture.

  • Or you could simply plug in any TV that you would have had attached to the 360.  Just saying...

  • It's a valid point though, not everyone will be able to hook up a desktop to their tv depending on the distance. I will take that into account. I could incorporate some sort of magnifier of the entire system.
