Edit Button in Document Library Views with checkout required not working RRS feed

    Some of our users have created document library views with the "Edit" column included. The document library itself requires checkout. The "Edit" button was working in 2010 as expected. If the document is not checked out, first a dialog appears telling us that checkout is required, then jumps into property edit mode of the item. If the item is already checked out, it just jumps into edit mode.

    However in 2013 it´s working the "opposite" way. If the item is not checked out, there is no question about checking out the item. It jumps directly into edit mode and when you try to save it, then it says: Hey, you need to checkout first. Only chance is to cancel edit operation. However if the item is already checked out and you go to "Edit", the dialog appears that checkout is needed, which is useless here as the item is already checked out.

    This happens only with the extra edit columns in views. If we you the ... context menu and the edit option there, everything is working fine.

    Would be nice of someone could reproduce this issue. Seems like a bug to me.
