Is there a way to add a 3rd party application to an offline image RRS feed

I've created the .WIM file, then an unattended file to have the WES image deployed from WDS using PXE.  It's working well.

Now, I have to figure out how to add 3rd party apps to offline image.  As we have -+10 different types of node, I would like to have 1 core install image and many config files to deploy the image with differents apps.

I read about .cab and .pmq but found nothing clearly documented.

Ideas, suggestions or cheque would be apprecied...

    Tks

  • You can mount your WIM file with ImageX or DISM. After mounting, you could drop in your programs, then commit the WIM.

If you need to actually run an installer, you could offline mount the registry of the mounted WIM, then set up runonce keys to launch the installers when the OS first boots.

Unfortunately you're not going to be able to actually run installers while the image is offline.
