MSDN Subscription Queries - Downloads RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am having problems seeing the downloads available to me. I have an MSDN subscription but I'm not sure whether it's properly connected to my live login. Anybody got any idea where I should start? No searches I've done have got me anywhere.

Are you still experiencing this today? We had some bug fixes go out a few days ago, and I am not sure if this issue was addressed, but it is worth checking. Thanks.

Try going to the Subscription Management Page at: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/subscriptions/manage

If you are not logged into Live ID, you will be presented with the login page first.

If you have a Subscription associated with that Live ID, you will see it in the drop down box near the top of the page.

If you don't have a Subscription associated with the Live ID, you will be presented with a "Registration" page where you will have to fill in four boxes with your Subscription specific information (exactly as it was provided to you from the subscription system) - first name, last name, email address, Subscriber ID (also called Benefit Access Number in some systems).

These four items should have come to you in email, and must be entered exactly as they were provided. The email that your Live ID is associated with does NOT have to be the same as the one from your subscription information.

If you are still having difficulties, contact Subscriptions support (from a contact matching your location at:

http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/subscriptions/aa948875.aspx) and they can walk you through the process.

    Good luck!

The most important thing to remember is that the four items you type in the boxes MUST match how your subscription was set up.

  • When I go to the Subscription Management Page, it says I have a MSDN Subscription (Volume License) associated with my login.

Any idea why at this page - http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/subscriptions/bb608344.aspx - I just see "If you were an MSDN Subscriber, you would be able to initiate downloads of select products directly from here."
    ?

Thanks for your help. Much appreciated.

On the Subscription Management Page, select the VL Subscription from the drop down list and click the default button to make sure it is your default subscription. Then try going back to the home page or the downloads tab - the Top Downloads list should look the same on both.

Try clearing cookies and cache as they sometimes cause some goofiness like you are experiencing.

    Good luck

  • The default button is disabled as that is my only subscription option. I've tried clearing my cookies and cache, tried using Firefox and IE, I still got the "If you were an MSDN Subscriber" message.
