Is it possible color coding with custom list in DataSheet view? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

i have a sharepoint List based on custom list in DataSheet view template. In these list i have Priority column, based on priority column i will create another calculated column. Let's say if priority field contain (1) High, then in Calculated column will show Red color. so basically trying to acheive color coding in Data sheet view list. Is it possible anyhow??

Note: i got following helpful thread from Linda Chapman, but unfortunately i am not very clear how she has done color coding with datasheet view. does anyone face this kind of problem before? if you solved please share with me.

  • Solutions like the one mentioned by Linda in that thread typically use Calculated Columns, SharePoint Designer and some code in a web part.  Are you comfortable with these components?

  • Hi Steven,

Thanks for your reply. i know how to create calculated columns with formula to make color coding based on Priority field and then put some java script into CEWP. But i have some confusion about her thread as she said "just creating a second color choice field for EACH field " i didn't get this point. Lets say i have 4 Fields (like Name, Address, Priority, PrirityIndicator) in this case what will be the approach to apply her thread. She also mentioned if she has 20 original field then it would be 60 fields. could you explain to me if you understand her that will be appreciated.

    Thanks
