    One of the tools you should have on your computer is the MYSQL Query Brower if not you can download it from dev.mysql.com

    Connect to your database and in the SQL Query Area run your sql query "select * from table;"

    You will see the results in the bottom window right click on the result window   and select export result set.  select "Export as Excel" and then you can enter a filename and select the directly where the excel file will be constructed. Thats it.

    Regards

    Hi,

    SQuirreL SQL Client (www.squirrelsql.org) has some simple tab-delimited export capability.
    You simply view table contents, select a the records you want to export, righ-click->Copy
    and this sends the records with tab-delimited fields to the system clipboard. You can then
    paste the result to your favorite editor save it as a file and open it in excel.

    SELECT a,b,a+b INTO OUTFILE '/tmp/result.xls'
      FIELDS TERMINATED BY ',' OPTIONALLY ENCLOSED BY '"'
      LINES TERMINATED BY '\n'
      FROM test_table;
    I hope this will help you.
    This will export it into csv file and that can be easily opened in excel.
