Apps manually installed by package file with developer license RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I developed app using my developer license of 30 days.

I installed the app on a tablet using manual package file (not through Windows Store) and it is running ok now.

After 30 days, will the app shows error message or it will be fine because it's installed already on tablet?

    Thanks,

  • Hi oneman93,

Thanks for the question. If you attempt to run an uncertified Windows Store app on your local machine after the license expires, you should receive a prompt that would inform you of the expired license. However, the developer license can be renewed. Please see this link about getting a developer license for more details.

    Thanks again for the post!

  • Thank you so much for your answer.

    I have another question.

Using my paid Developer License (now expire in 90days!), I installed an App in two machines.

If I renew the license on machine A (or even in my local machine Visual Studio), will it automatically apply to machine B as well?

    Many thanks,

  • Hello oneman93,

No, you must get a developer license for each machine. Please refer to Getting a developer license.

  • Yes, you are correct.

When I renewed one machine, it wasn't applying to the other machine.

    Thanks (and so sad)
