  • Hello,

How exactly are you creating the HDInsight cluster through ARM or Classic, also under which region you are creating this cluster?

Please go through the below articles for more insights.

Creating HDInsight spark cluster and running queries:

    https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/articles/hdinsight-apache-spark-zeppelin-notebook-jupyter-spark-sql/

    https://azure.microsoft.com/en-in/documentation/articles/hdinsight-apache-spark-jupyter-spark-sql/

     Hope this helps.

    Regards,

    Ashok

  • Hi, I went to the Portal: Create New HDInsight > New HDInsight Cluster > [Settings for Spark] > Create and got the error message. Nothing happened.

Now when I log in a few hours later it says that I have a storage account and a cluster, but the cluster is still in an error state.

    • ERROR CODE
      AzureResourceCreationFailedErrorCode
    • ERROR MESSAGE
Internal server error occurred while processing the request. Please retry the request or contact support.

The first failure in the audit log is

    PROPERTIES

    statusCode:Conflict

    statusMessage:{"status":"Failed","error":{"code":"ResourceDeploymentFailure","message":"The resource operation completed with terminal provisioning state 'Failed'.","details":[{"code":"AzureResourceCreationFailedErrorCode","message":"Internal server error occurred while processing the request. Please retry the request or contact support."}]}}

    This is West US.

Hope we can straighten it out--we'd like to compare Azure and EMR and so far this is holding us up

  • Hi Peter,

Apologies for the delay, are you still blocked by this? Could you please provide me with cluster name that failed so that I can investigate?

Most often, these could be transient issues which may succeed upon a retry.

    Regards.

    Hi Debarchan,

I am also facing the same issue of deployement failure due to internal server error.

Kindly suggest some workaround. Below is the error

At least one resource deployment operation failed. Please list deployment operations for details. Please see https://aka.ms/arm-debug for usage details. (Code: DeploymentFailed)

  • @Himani Arya

This could be a transient failure. Could you try now and confirm if you’re still facing the issue?

Just checking in to see if the issue is resolved or you need further assistance on this.

It would be better if you can share the screenshot of the issue to understand your setup.

  • Hey there,

This thread is too old. Can you please create a new thread with as much details as possible? That would have better visibility in the community, which will help in the quick resolution of this issue.
