How to pass parameters from a web application to SSRS? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a SSRS report displaying Country_Id and Country_name. Now i need to pass a field value from the web application to the SSRS report so that it will filter according to this value. Is there any way to do this from Report side avoiding any scripting code??

    Thanks & Regards,

  • Hi Sujil,

Based on my understanding, you want to call a report in a web application, then pass a parameter to filter data, right?

In Reporting Services, we can pass a parameter to a report by including it in a report URL. The URL parameter is passed directly to the report processing engine. In your scenario, you can filter the report using a URL parameter on the web application side. For more information, please refer to this article: Pass a Report Parameter Within a URL.

If you define the available values for the parameter on report side, the parameter values will display when you call the report in a web application. Then you should select the value from the drop-down list to filter the report.
