Hyper-v VMs fail to start. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Its a lab machine with sql server 2012 R2 that was powerd off during a long time.

When I try to start a virtual machine I get

Just for a few seconds I gave everyone full control to the VMs directory and subs and I succeed to start VMs.

    It looks a security problem.

    It's stable I didn't change nothing.

One VM it is the active directory for the lab environment.

How to workarround this problem ?

    Best regards

  • It could be that you don't have enough available storage on the target to hold the 'saved state' file. (equal to the RAM setting of the VM)

Change the setting of the VM - set the automatic stop action to shutdown or stop and NOT Save State.

If this fixes it, you are low on storage.

  • Hi!

Volume has 1.2 Tb free space, if I change vms folders security to everyone full control I succeed to start vms.

    Best regards,
