TC5.1.12: Verify that the application only handles exceptions that are known and expected RRS feed

  • Question

  •

    Hi,

Our application catches all exceptions and reports them to us for debugging and support. This means that the thread hijacker exception is being caught and handled.

Does this mean that we will fail this test?

What can we do to satisfy this requiement? Is it possible to get a waiver, or do we have to rethrow the exception?

    Thanks.

  • Hello,

As per logo requirement, you need to handle the known exceptions only and Windows should be able to catch other errors so that the OS (WER to be precise) can handle those.

So, yes, either you should not catch these or rethrow for the OS to catch. The bottomline is that, you should get the WER pop-up message and the two logs as mentioned in the test case.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks.
