BizTalk 2016 Feature Pack 1 - installed but BTS-Admin looks the same.

    Question

  • I just installed the BizTalk 2016 Feature Pack 1.  I even rebooted.

The new screens are not showing in BTS-Admin, i.e. the "Analystics" on the BizTalk Group settings, and the new schedule options on a receive location.

    Running on Win 2008/R2.

    Thanks,

    Neal Walters

  • Hi Neal

Software Assurance is available to organizations that support as few as five devices. Software Assurance is only available through Volume Licensing and is purchased when you buy or renew a Volume Licensing agreement. It is included with some agreements and is an optional purchase with others. Your available benefits are determined by the types and quantity of products that you purchase. The size of your organization may determine which of the broad range of benefits are most immediately useful to you.

  • Hi Neal,

    Refer: https://blogs.biztalk360.com/microsoft-biztalk-server-2016-feature-pack-1/

The Feature Pack is only available to BizTalk Server Enterprise license customers (also for developer license). Unfortunately, BizTalk Server 2016 Feature Pack 1 is not available for BizTalk Server Standard Edition customers. In addition, the customers should also have an active software assurance in place. You are also eligible for BizTalk Server 2016 Feature Pack 1 if you are running BizTalk Server 2016 in Azure under Enterprise Agreement. If you do not meet these criteria, you cannot utilize Feature Pack.

I have also downloaded and installed BizTalk Server 2016 Developer Edition from my Visual Studio Enterprise Subscription and also successfully installed Feature Pack 1 above it, new features are available.

  • I'm running Dev Version from Visual Studio Enterprise download.
Even though it acts like it installed, perhaps the new features don't show up because of this:

Feature Pack 1 is available with the Enterprise and Developer editions of BizTalk Server 2016 when:

    • Used with Software Assurance (SA)

      Or,

    • Running BizTalk Server in Azure using an Enterprise Agreement

Feature Pack 1 is not available for any other BizTalk Server edition, or any other BizTalk Server version.

I actually have no idea what the "Software Assurance" really means.  Will come back and research that next week.
