move placeholder to top while typing with asp tags

Hello everyone, I'd like to move the placeholder up when a user wants to enter his information.  I found a lot of code in html and css to do it, but I work with an ASP form. So is there a way to do that with asp textbox and asp label?

If so, you can't do this on the server. It has to happen on the client, which means using HMTL, CSS and/or JavaScript. Bear in mind that the asp:TextBox renders an <input type="text"/>

Thanks Mikesdotnetting for your reply, that's exactly what I'm trying to do. Actually the textbox will generate the input but I don't understand how to make the link. should I just use input instead of asp tags?
