System Audio tests against kernel-mode driver? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have developed a kernel-mode driver for our PCI card, which is a kind of Network Interface Card (NIC).

I am using Microsoft Windows HLK, version 1903, to test against my driver.

I observed that the Windows HLK tests include the following “System Audio” tests:

    1. System Audio - AC3 Test – Desktop

    2. System Audio - Audio Logo Test – Desktop

    3. System Audio - Hardware Offload of Audio Processing Test

    4. System Audio – Class Driver Audio Logo Test – Desktop

    5. System Audio - Lullaby Test - Desktop

    Questions:

Why do I need to run those “System Audio” tests against my driver?

Do I really need to run those “System Audio” tests against my driver?

Thank you very much for your help and support.
