RDP Virtual Environments share c: drive? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I wasn't aware that multiple users logging into a remote virtual environment would all share the C: drive. Isn't there a way to give each user their own C: drive?

  • No.  That is not how Remote Desktop Session Hosts (Terminal Server) works.  So you have to protect it.

All users share in the core OS but have unique session run spaces.

If you need each person to have a unique file system, then you look to a VDI solution where each user has a unique VM.
