Spreadsheet - Chart - After dynamically changing the formula - gives error RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

Using the following blog post by Brian, i tried making a shreadsheet with a chart.

    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/brian_jones/archive/2008/11/04/document-assembly-solution-for-spreadsheetml.aspx

    It works great.

I tried inserting few rows in the spreadsheet like some sort of headers in a report. and then i start my table for the chart. like from A4:F20

On line 4, i have the table headers.

And i want columns A, D, E to be in chart.

I am editing the formulas and changing them to the following.

     Sheet1!$E$4
     Sheet1!$A$5:$A$20
     Sheet1!$E$5:$E$20
    Sheet1!$F$4
     Sheet1!$A$5:$A$20
     Sheet1!$F$5:$F$20

And when i open the excel, I am not getting any error. Data is coming fine. But the chartsheet is not updated.

Can anybody help me with this.

    Thanks,

    Simranjit Singh

  • Thanks Bruce for the reply, I forgot to close this thread. Actually problem was the formulas i modified were being saved for another chartsheet and reflecting there. I had 4 chartsheets and dynamically removing the not required ones. So the one on which the formulas were updated, i was deleting them, Hence the issue. I have corrected the code.

  • Hi Simranjit,

Where did you edit the formula and change them? I think the you didn't reference the data correctly for the chart. It should updated because as soon as I update the data in the My Data sheet, the chart will automatically update according to the data.

And did you use your own data not the v2WorkbookFromDB ? If so, it hard for me to reproduce your scenario without the data and the Excel template. And would you mind sharing the demo file and data on the skydrive?

I will do further research with your detailed information.

    Best Regards,
