stackoverflow exception in IIS RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi:

I have a WCF service will throw a stackoverflow exception, when this service host in IIS, the exception will crash the whole application Pool. But a self hosted WCF service will continue working. So my question is why and how can I make the IIS application pool not crash and continue working?

  • Maybe, you can look in the IIS logs for something. But whatever is happening, it is catastrophic that's for sure. :) Also if using local IIS VS debugger with the WCF service code up in VS, you can attach the wpw3.exe that is hosting the App Pool and let it blow-up while in debug mode. It might point you to something.
