Linking "Percent Complete" to custom field RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm linking Microsoft excel data to  Project 2010. I'm downloading data from one system to an excel file/pivot table and then linking the excel cells to custom fields in Project.  I've made everything work except for one thing.  I've created a custom field in Project called "TLS" (Training Line Status). Tasks status are either Planned "P", Scheduled "S", Confirmed "C", Complete "CO", or Cancelled "RX".  What I'd like to do is have some way that when a task is coded as complete "CO", Project automatically sets the "Percent Complete" to 100 Percent.  Is there a way to do that?

  • Hi,

Only by VBA I'm afraid. The code is nt difficult (see below) and you can copy it in the ProjectBeforeSave event code such that at every save youwill have the correct %Complete:

    Sub CO

    Dim Job as task

    For each Job in activeproject.tasks

if not job is nothing then

    if job.tls="CO" then job.percentcomplete=100

    end if

    next Job

    end sub

    Greetings,
