ASP.NET Web Site Administration tool does not work with encrypted connection string RRS feed

    I used

    aspnet_regiis -pef "connectionStrings" "myFolderPath"

     

    It is unable to detect my connection string.

    added this in command prompt

    aspnet_regiis -pa "NetFrameworkConfigurationKey" "UserName"

    Now it is working fine

    Error message is as follows:

    The RSA key container could not be opened. at System.COnfiguration.RsaProtectedConfigurationProvider.

     

    Currently using this solution to enter into ASP.NET Web SIte Admin Tool using IIS Express

    Thanks for sharing your experience and solution with us, and I come here to confirm and close this issue.

    As we know, the RSA protected configuration provider needs a key container to be created first to work. The NetFrameWorkConfigurationKey is the default key container used by the provider. And there is also some introduction about encrypting the Connection String here, it's also useful for us.
