  • Any Microsoft setup (Microsoft Emulator for Windows 10 Mobile?, Microsoft Android Emulator?) is MSI-based and should create a .log file. Can you find it and post it here?

  • Hi johanucollins,

    Welcome to the MSDN forum.

To find the detail error message of this failed installation, I need your help to the VS log. Please use this collect tool to gather the installation logs. After using it, you will find vslogs.zip under %temp% folder. Please upload the file to the OneDrive and share the link here.

What’s your OS version? Please have a look at Test with the Microsoft Emulator for Windows 10 Mobile and make sure your OS already matches the system requirement.

Meanwhile, Microsoft Emulator for Windows 10 Mobile ships as part of the Windows 10 SDK. The Windows 10 SDK and emulator can be installed as part of the Visual Studio 2015 install. See the Visual Studio download page.

Before the installation, make sure windows update is up-to-date, temporarily disable any antivirus software, clean up %temp% and run the installer as administrator.

    Best regards,

    Sara
