Windows on a Mac RRS feed

  • Question

  • I tried to install the 64-bit version on a late 2009 Mac mini 2.66GHz C2D with Windows 7 Pro 64-bit running as the only OS.  The Bootcamp drivers had been installed from the mini's installation disk and Windows 7 is fully functional.  Whether I chose to download the latest drivers via the Windows 8 install screen or not the installer reported that it was unable to verify the mini's ability to run Windows 8.  Is there any way around that problem?

  • Hello,

There appears to be a thread in the Apple Support Communities here where people have been successful in installing the Windows Developer Preview on their Macs. You might find some helpful information in that thread.

  • You may want to check Microsoft's minimum hardware requirements for Windows 8. I find it odd that Win 7 64-bit would work but not Win 8 64-bit.
