Text to speech feature: choosing male or female voice

    Question

  • Greetings.  For several weeks, I have been using the Microsoft Translator SaaS to convert text to speech audio, via the REST API URL http://api.microsofttranslator.com/V2/Http.svc/Speak

For three weeks, I was getting a male voice in the generated audio.

All of a sudden, on about 27-May-2014, the voice changed gender to female.

How can I request the male voice -- it worked better for our application.

  • The option to select a male or female voice will be available in a future release of the Microsoft Translator API.

Thank you for using the Microsoft Translator service.

This answer was given almost two years ago. I wonder if the option to select available male of female voices has now been incorporated? Thanks.
