mysql not responding starting service

Hi,

   I try to install the mysql server in my machine, in the installition process i am getting the following error .

"mysql not responding starting service"

 so,how to solve this problem.

Are you sure you are installing right version as per your system configuration.

Please let me know which version you are trying to install and your system configuration too.

Hi,

    I am installing the mysql 5.1 server version. and my system configuration is XP service pack 3.
