  • Question

  • Hello,

I have successfully set up a p2p chat service where all the chatting is propagating correctly to other peers.

I would like have a central server to handle things like authentication. I'm having a hard time figuring out how to implement this.

Is the server code (authentication code) vs the chat mixed into the same service?

    Any input would be appreciated!

It is a simple p2p chat application written in WCF that has a server component.  You could extend this to handle authetnication.  Basically each client woudl have to connect to the server first to get some authentication information, then after that clients can mesh together in a p2p kind of way.  You could do this through certificates, or something much simplier.
