Provider-hosted app anonymous access RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a provider-hosted app built in MVC.

The problem is that when I publish the app to my SharePoint it cannot be accessed through anonymous access.

Is there a way I can do that?

    Best regards,

    Emerson Dias.

  • Hi,

According to your post, my understanding is that the provider hosted app could not anonymous access.

To make a provider-hosted app accessible to anonymous users is simply a matter of configuring it to use the app-only authorization policy.

You can check whether your app use the app-only policy as below.

    • You must  add AllowAppOnlyPolicy="true" to the AppPermissionRequests element in the app manifest.
    • Your code must ask for an app-only access token from the OAuth authorization server. If you are working with managed code, there are APIs specifically created for this purpose in the code files that are generated by Microsoft Office Developer Tools for Visual Studio: SharePointContext.cs (or .vb) and TokenHelper.cs (or .vb).
